Summer Outreach Programs

The Oregon Ridge Nature Center has four popular Outreach Program options that include 45 minutes to an hour of instruction followed by 60-75 minutes of guided outdoor exploration and hands-on experiences related to the topic. We are able to customize any of our programs to meet your educational goals or even create a new program to fit with the theme of your summer program.

  • Native Americans
  • Insects and their Kin

Registration for Summer Outreach Programs opens on May 1st.

Summer Outreach Programs are offered Tuesday thru Friday for Groups of 15 – 40 students. Programs are 2 hours long and start at 10 a.m. (Pre-school programs are 1 hour long.) All trips take place primarily outside and are rain or shine.

Group Leaders/Chaperones must participate in the program and maintain a 10 to 1 student/adult ratio. Adults beyond a 10-student to 2-adult ratio must be approved by the Nature Center. If you would like to stay to eat lunch, please inquire about complimentary Pavilion availability.

Groups are welcome to tour the Nature Center’s exhibit hall in small groups of 10 – 15 after the program. Please let us know in advance if you wish to do this.
Fees – $125 for a 2-hour program. $75 for a 1-hour pre-school program. Fees are waived for Baltimore County Recreation and Parks Facilities; only one waived fee program per facility.

Groups are welcome to visit the Nature Center for a self-led program, but must apply for a Group Gathering Permit.
