HONEY HARVEST - October 1st and 2nd, 11AM-4PM - Celebrate all things honey at the 36th annual Honey Harvest Festival! Activities include: open honey bee hive demonstrations, honey extraction, mead, honey ice cream making, hayrides, food trucks, local honey product sales, childrens crafts and much, much more! Admission is FREE, but some activities have a fee.
SPECIAL FUNDRAISING EVENT - November 17 at the Oregon Ridge Lodge (13401 Beaver Dam Road) - Tom Horton speaking on the Chesapeake Bay - The admission fee for the 6:00 PM wine and lite fare reception, plus lecture is $50. The fee for the 7:30 PM lecture is $20 on-line or $25 at the door. For registration and payment information click here.

COLUMBIA GAS TRANSMISSION PIPELINE PROJECT - This project has cut a swath through 1.3 miles of Oregon Ridge Park, and is using at least 8.6 acres of parkland for a construction yard. Work is nearly complete. Details of this project can be found in the Oregon Ridge Park Mitigation Report and the Forest Conservation Plan. (Note: The linked files are approximately 35 megabytes in size and may take a while to download.)
